Kansas City Trip

Justin and I drove to Kansas City this weekend for Justin's company Christmas party. I took the day off Friday and was able to do a few things around the house before we left at noon.
I love driving through the Flint Hills
We stopped for a snack.

Outside of Lawrence we saw the following billboards.

Once in Kansas City we stopped by Cabela's and then headed over to the Legends for some shopping.

Boots anyone? There were at least 4 rows of boots just like this one. Every size, shape, and color you can imagine!
All of the Christmas decorations at Legends were beautiful. I would have loved to go back after dark to see all the lights.
We headed to the hotel next were we got ready and drove over to the Ritz Charles for the party. We had some tasty appetizers to start the evening, followed by KC strip for Justin and salmon for me. We were able to talk to many of the people from Hodgdon's home office in Kansas City including Bob Hodgdon himself. I was super excited to hear Bob speak about a group of men that get together weekly to pray over the company and each and every employee and their families. Justin is blessed to work for a company that has put God first for many years. I pray that they continue to do so!
Saturday we slept in a bit and then did some more shopping. We met some friends of ours at the Bass Pro shop for lunch and then headed home. It started snowing on the way home, but thankfully nothing stuck and the roads stayed dry.
It was nice to get away for a short time and just enjoy spending time together.
