Weeding

I just came in from doing some weeding in my garden. Unfortunately this year I have not done a very good job of keeping the weeds out. It seems like we have been extra busy and on the go all summer.

Of course that's just an excuse and it got me thinking....how often do we make excuses in our spiritual lives? Excuses that allow weeds to begin growing and take root. Do we stop what we're doing and pray when we feel the nudge from the Holy Spirit or decide we'll do it later? Do we read our Bibles each day when we know we should, or put it off for another time? Do we go so far as to wait so long inbetween our prayers that we forget what the nudge from the Holy Spirit feels like?

My question tonight is, are there weeds in your garden that need to be pulled up? Praise the Lord for His awesome power in our lives that can show us our weeds and help us pull them up. His power that can make are garden bloom with His fruits!
